January Wedding Update: Save-the-Dates

Things are slowly starting to feel real now that we’re only a NINE months away from tying the knot. When Matt is at work, I occasionally sneak a peak at pictures of my wedding dress and get so excited. I cannot wait to pick up my dress and try it on again, especially now that I have my wedding shoes! Do any other soon-to-be brides just stare at pictures of their wedding dress, or am I weird?

This month’s post is on the shorter side because we have SO much planning in limbo until later this month. Read more about our trip to Corolla and more exciting updates below!

Save-the-Dates

I finally ordered our save-the-dates from The Knot and they arrived in the mail last night! To be perfectly candid, I was holding off making the purchase until The Knot to sent me a promo code to place my order (#budgetwedding). When I received a free shipping code a few weeks ago, it seemed like the perfect time to order. Because our wedding is a destination wedding in North Carolina, I wanted to give everyone plenty of advanced notice to make necessary plans.

Corolla Trip

I hinted in our December Wedding Update that Matt and I planned to drive down to Corolla to visit our venue and meet with vendors. The trip has now officially been confirmed for the last week of February. We’re driving down to Corolla to see our wedding venue in person, doing a few tastings and hopefully make a few big decisions for the big day. I can’t wait to share move over on Instagram stories!

Our Wedding Shoes

Matthew and I both have our dancing shoes for the big day! (You can read all about the Sarah Flint shoes of my dreams here.) For Matthew, we knew he’d wear a navy blue suit for our ceremony, so we were on the look out for tan oxfords to go along with the suit. We found the perfect pair of Cole Haan tan oxfords at DSW for a bargain price. If your soon-the-be hubby is still looking for dress shoes for the wedding, I highly recommend checking out Cole Haan options at DSW.
