New Hope Girls: A Purchase with Purpose

Today’s post is one that I’ve been super excited to share. When I first launched into entrepreneurship and founded Low Ultraviolet, I knew I wanted to give back, create impact, and change the world for the better. The idea of “purchase with purpose” is something that was in the forefront of my mind, and it also happens to be something I share in common with the subject of today’s blog post.

I am thrilled to share today’s post in collaboration with New Hope Girls. New Hope Girls is a non-profit organization that makes it their mission to provide refuge for girls and empower women with every purchase. New Hope Girls bags are specially crafted by artisans living and working in the Dominican Republic. Each bag also includes a special tag that tells the story of the woman who created it and their signature. This truly special detail allows you to feel close to the artisan.

My dear friend, Caitlyn, recently took a position with New Hope Girls and immediately inspired me with the work she is doing for the organization. Just a quick visit to their website makes it clear the impact they are creating in the lives of young women in the Dominican Republic.

I am incredible grateful to have received two bags from New Hope Girls: the Something Blue Pouch and the Slate Croc Tote. In addition to their pouches and totes, New Hope Girls also offers clutches, crossbody bags, hobo bags, backpacks and more!

The Something Blue Pouch is the sweetest addition since Matthew and I are getting married in November. This pouch is perfect for carrying around everything from pens or makeup to last minute essentials for the big day like bobby pins, tissues, deodorant, lip balm, Tide To Go and more. It seriously fits everything!

The Slate Croc Tote immediately caught my eye the first time I ventured onto the New Hope Girls’ website. I thought the pattern was so perfect for fall, and I knew it could effortlessly be incorporated into my closet. I have a ton of travel coming up as we make final preparations for the wedding, and it’s amazing to have a tote that’s durable and sturdy to bring along with me! The tote comes is in a few dozen other color alternatives, including the same croc pattern in grey, aqua, pink, yellow and white.

If totes aren’t your style, their hobo bags are a great alternative with some of the same great pattern options. The hobo bag also comes in a mini size for easy, everyday use. No matter your style, all of their bags and products are handmade, sustainable and purposeful. They source high-quality fabric like end of bolts and discontinued upholstery that otherwise would have been scrapped. My absolute favorite thing about my New Hope Girls bags is that I can carry them while also telling the story of the impact these bags create.

Thank you so much to the amazing Caitlyn and to New Hope Girls for the bags featured in today’s post.
