September Update:

In the past month, we decided on a date and booked a venue for the rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception. All three event will be hosted at the same venue, so it makes life for us so much easier. We’re also working with one of my good friends, Natalie, to take engagement pictures on October 24th at a winery or orchard in northern Virginia. If you know of a good place, let me know!

I’ve also been working with Wedding Wire behind the scenes to buildout our wedding website for guests and connect with potential vendors. I went back and forth on whether to use Wedding Wire vs Zola, they both are fantastic platforms, but you guys shared some great advice via DMs that ultimately led me to choose Wedding Wire.

FAQ:

Do you think your wedding has a more traditional or more contemporary feel?

I’d say contemporary with traditional aspects. We definitely have a non-traditional venue, but there will be traditional touches in the ceremony and reception. For example, there will be a formal sit-down dinner at the reception.

When & where are you getting married?

We’re getting married November 2021 in Duck, North Carolina. Can’t wait to share more soon!

What are your wedding colors?

Our colors are cloud blue, eucalyptus green and gold.

How many people are you thinking of inviting?

Our wedding is going to be super intimate with just family and close friends. At max, we’re expecting 55 people. Although we are hoping the world will look better in November 2021, with threats of COVID and having elderly relatives, we’re going to play it safe with the guest list.

Band or DJ for the reception?

Band all the way! We have no idea who we’re going to book yet, but a live band brings such an exciting energy to a wedding.
