November Wedding Update: One Year Away!
At the beginning of November, we celebrated 365 days until we tie to knot. WOOHOO! I’m not sure how time is flying by so quickly because it honestly feels like we just got engaged yesterday! Knowing we’re only ONE YEAR out from the wedding started to make things so real. Read how Matthew proposed here!
To be honest, this month was a little bit of a slower one for wedding planning. There have been a bunch of things “in the works” like the wedding website and our Save the Dates but nothing to show just yet. Our plan is to get the Save the Dates out later this month since we’re having a destination wedding and want to give people plenty of time to plan. (Read about it here!) I have been using Wedding Wire for all the wedding planning based on you alls suggestions, and so far, haven’t run into any big issues with the platform. I love how easy and seamless their vendor search is and that they have so many other features to help us plan our perfect wedding (i.e. Budget calculator, seating chart, RSVP, etc.). My brother and his fiancé are getting married in February (SO excited!) and they used Zola and love the platform. I think it would be fun to collaborate on a blog post comparing the two platforms!
Although November was a slower month, we are ramping up for an exciting December! My bridesmaid’s proposal boxes are almost ready to go, and I cannot wait to share a post on this once I ask all my bridesmaids! I plan to ask everyone around the holidays so we can start planning for bridesmaid dresses & all that fun stuff.
I am also going dress shopping in December at this adorable boutique in Lynchburg, Ashley Grace Bridal. A few of my friends have gotten their dresses from there and they are absolutely stunning. My dream growing up was to try on dresses at Kleinfeld in New York (Say Yes to the Dress 😉), but with COVID-19 and realizing that spending $3000+ on a dress is bonkers, I’m living out my dreams at a more realistic & practical way. Follow along on Instagram! I’m going to block Matthew on the day I go dress shopping so you guys can see some of the gowns.
