Alexandria Apartment First Look
Wow, what a crazy couple of days! I’m writing this post as we’re about 90% moved into our new apartment. It’s so exciting to see things coming together. I’ve had this apartment planned in my head for months, but due to COVID, our plans were put on hold for a few months. The pause and uncertainty since March makes finally moving up to Alexandria and getting Matt started at his job so much sweeter. Read our moving announcement.
I wasn’t going to write a blog post about the new apartment until we were completely moved in, but I received SO MANY DMs last night from you guys with questions. I’m so happy you guys love this space as much as I do!
Let me let you in on a little secret... I originally found this rug on Wayfair and fell in love with the blue and grey pattern. Our couch is grey so the rug seemed meant to be for the space. On the 4th of July, the rug was marked down and I was ready to pull the plug. However, right before I hit submit on my Wayfair order, my mom told me to check Amazon, and boy am I glad I did because I found the same rug for HALF the price on Wayfair!
I will say, the rug is more of a turquoise blue than the deep blue that shows in the picture. It’s so unfortunate when pictures don’t match how things look in reality! The only issue we’ve run into with the rug is getting it flattened out. It came with a crease on the left side (seen in the picture above). It’ll probably takes us a couple weeks with heavy boxes to get it flattened and back to normal.
I hesitated showing this photo because the couch cushions needs to be steamed and the router is just hanging out. Haha, still so much to do! I purchased these white pillows off of Amazon last night to try and tie the couch, rug and coffee table together. The walls of the apartment are grey, so I feel the need to brighten things up in here.
