An Honest Cupshe Swimwear Review

If you've been following along on my blog and Instagram this past week, you'll know I just got back from spring break in Florida! In honor of spring officially starting on Tuesday, and my recent Florida trip, I'm sharing a review of the popular, inexpensive brand, Cupshe.

Affordability is my #1 priority, so when I first heard of Cupshe from a coworker this past summer, I thought it was too good to be true. If you've heard of Cupshe, chances are you have mixed feelings about the company; either you think it's a sketchy site you would never order from, or you love the site and its inexpensive, on-trend swimwear.

I decided to bite the bullet and order the suit above because I LOVED it online, and figured I could just return it if it didn't fit or I didn't like it in person. Well, this assumption was unfortunately false, but I'll get into that more below.

SHIPPING

Shipping was pretty reasonable if you keep in mind this it is NOT Amazon Prime 2-day shipping. I ordered this suit on February 13th and it arrived on February 23rd, a little over a week later. On average, the website stated that orders generally arrive within 13 days.

PRICE

The prices are a steal (ranging around $20 for both one-pieces and bikinis), and there is such a wide variety of styles to choose from. You can find suits for as little as $16.99 on sale up to about $32 as the most expensive. Plus, most suits have built-in padding!

WEBSITE

Their website gave me multiple red flags. First off, I questioned the legitimacy of the reviews found on the website because there are NO negative reviews beneath any of the products. Many of the reviews even neglected to mention the bathing suit they were supposedly reviewing.

Next, their website and business as a whole are both extremely unprofessional. When you roll your mouse over the "New Arrivals" header, the first thing that pops up is "Spring 2017" and "Summer 2017." Although this is a tiny detail, it was something that immediately resonated as unprofessional in my mind. Also, there are hundreds of negative reviews about their terrible customer service; there was even one customer who never received their order, and Cupshe refused to refund them. (Keep reading for my experience with returns.)

CONS

Although I shared a few pros about my experience above, I definitely have a TON of cons about the brand.

  1. Returns: When I first tried on this swimsuit, I was not a fan of the fit and emailed the company about the returns process. No one ever got back to me, even after multiple follow-up emails. A few days later I had a change of heart and decided to keep the suit, but had I not had a change of heart, this situation would have severely irritated me.

  2. Bikinis are sold as a set: Not many women wear the same size top as they do bottoms. It's probably less than the number of women who can wear off-the-rack without alterations.

So, would I order from Cupshe again? Definitely not. I'm all about giving companies the benefit of the doubt, but they have terrible customer service and a non-existent return policy. With so many amazing companies out there, ordering from Cupshe again would be a waste of my time and energy.

Update 3/19: A reader informed me that you can order Cupshe suits off of Amazon. If you are in love with one of their suits, ordering from Amazon is a safer bet than ordering directly from Cupshe's website. Plus, you'd get the two-day shipping as well!
