Budget-Friendly Gray Malin DIY Home Decor

I have absolutely loved Gray Malin’s photography since I was in high school. His photography beautifully showcases adventure and is the perfect home decor for a coastal-inspired home.

After I graduated college and moved into an at-home office, I knew I wanted to find budget-friendly Gray Malin home decor.

The Backstory

When I was outfitting my at-home office, I had the perfect spot lining the back wall for artwork. I searched Society6, Wayfair, Target, and more to try and find the perfect Gray Malin-inspired coastal print.

Even though I found some incredible options, my mind kept going back to some of my favorite Gray Malin prints. Regardless of how much I loved these photos, I knew they weren’t within my budget.

Instead of compromising with a Gray Malin-inspired piece, I decided to get creative.

Because I’ve followed Gray Malin for years, I knew he released puzzles with some of his popular photos. Each of the Gray Malin puzzles showcased exactly what I was looking for. I selected the Hawaii Beach 2-Sided Puzzle, a 24”x18” picture frame, and puzzle glue, and got to work.

Step-by-Step Gray Malin Puzzle Art

What You’ll Need

  • A Gray Malin puzzle

  • A picture frame

Be sure to double-check the puzzle’s final dimensions before purchasing

  • Clear-dry puzzle glue

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Complete the puzzle

  2. Slide the puzzle onto a piece of cardboard

This ensures the glue doesn’t stick to your table or other surfaces

  3. Cover with puzzle glue and let dry for a day

Since the puzzle glue dries clear, there is no need to turn to puzzle over for this step.

  4. Place the puzzle into a frame and hang it where you best see fit!
