Raise your hand if your New Years Resolution involved being more active? (*insert raising hand emoji*) In my case, when I say I want to be more active I’m not referring to HIIT, cardio, or even barre, but rather mindfulness and having an active and engaged mind.
This past fall I had the opportunity to try out aerial yoga for the first time! I love yoga and can honestly say this was one of the coolest experiences of my life. It was a completely different experience from the yoga I was used to. I had to incorporate trust into my practice for the first time. I had to trust what my body was capable of and more importantly learn to trust the hammock holding me.
Yoga truly has the ability to calm my anxiety and clear my head in a way nothing else can. Unfortunately, as the semester gets more hectic and stressful, I lose motivation and forget yoga is even an option. As materialistic as it sounds, sometimes the best reminder to get back on track is new activewear! Below are some of my favorite athletic/athleisure choices to start 2018 off right.
