If you’ve been following along on Instagram and Insta stories (@whattheclique), you’ve probably seen that this past weekend was Virginia Tech’s fall break. Oh BOY, did we pack a lot into 48 hours!
I can’t believe how much Matt and I packed into Friday. Friday morning we worked on homework, and Matt helped me shoot pictures for two collaboration posts (Read my post on Curology here!). Unfortunately, 90% of the photos shot were accidentally deleted… However, some were thankfully saved on Instagram, so we made it work.
In the afternoon, we drove the 40-minutes to Draper Mercantile in Draper, Virginia. I had been going on and on for days about how I wanted to drive, eat and explore someplace new. Matt kept saying that the further we drive, the more we are setting our selves up for disappointment. Well, we were far from disappointed! The food was incredible.
My phone was out of storage, but I saved some shots from my Instagram story! I got a pear gorgonzola pizza with a balsamic glaze, and Matt got the Route 76 sandwich (basically an extreme version of a BLT). He also got sweet potato fries that came with a marshmallow dipping sauce. SO GOOD! I happily helped out in eating almost all of those fries!
After lunch, we headed back to my apartment to finish up some work before heading to Matt’s Banquet Dinner that night. For those who don’t know, Matt is studying Aerospace Engineering (sexy, right?!), and was invited to be recognized at a department excellence dinner. We, unfortunately, don’t have any pictures together all dressed up, but Matt told me I looked like a politicians wife in my blue Tahari dress and heels. So, I guess just picture that lol!
Then we headed out for the long drive home to Charlottesville. We got in around 11pm and then were back on the road bright and early the next morning with my brother, his girlfriend, and our baby sister to Busch Gardens.
This is what happens every time we try to take a nice picture, Alex refused to smile…
I hope you guys had a great weekend!!
